Inherent Material & Coating Risks
Laser cutting and engraving rely on precise thermal energy. Pre-manufactured gifts, retail goods, and personal items frequently carry unseen lacquers, chemical coatings, surface treatments, or internal material variations. By submitting your item, you explicitly acknowledge and accept that processing carries unavoidable risks of uneven engraving depth, surface discolouration, scorching, melting, warping, or coating peel due to these unknown material properties. Ashford Lasers accepts no liability for outcomes resulting from inherent material characteristics.
Sentimental Value & Limitation of Liability
Ashford Lasers will perform all services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the maximum extent permitted by UK law:
· Sentimental Value: Ashford Lasers accepts zero liability for loss of sentimental, emotional, personal, or non-commercial value under any circumstances.
· Irreplaceable Items: Items declared as unique, vintage, or irreplaceable are accepted and processed entirely at the Client's own risk.
· Liability Cap: If Ashford Lasers is found legally liable for damage to a client-supplied item due to operator error or system failure, our total maximum liability shall be strictly limited to the lower of either:
o (a) The proven retail replacement cost of the raw, un-engraved item, capped at a maximum of £50.00; OR
o (b) A full refund of the laser service fee charged for that specific item.
· Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
High-Value Items & Testing
For items with a replacement value exceeding £100.00, Ashford Lasers reserves the right to request a test sample of identical material prior to production, or to decline processing at our discretion.
Material Safety & Hazardous Substances
Ashford Lasers will not process materials containing PVC, vinyl, chlorine, or other hazardous compounds due to severe health, safety, and machinery risks. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, the supplied item is free from toxic or hazardous materials.
Artwork, Proofs & Layout Approval
You take full responsibility for reviewing and approving all designs, spelling, layout, and positioning prior to production. Ashford Lasers is not responsible for errors present in client-approved artwork or instructions once processing has commenced.
Intellectual Property Rights
You warrant that you hold full legal rights or permissions for any logos, graphics, or copyrighted text provided. You agree to indemnify Ashford Lasers against any third-party legal claims or expenses arising from copyright or trademark infringement.
Custom Goods & Cancellations
In accordance with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, custom-engraved and personalised items are exempt from statutory cancellation rights once setup or laser processing has begun. All fees are non-refundable after production starts.
